USB Capture card with HDMI pass-through 120/144Hz

Postby J2Kbr » Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:18 am

I am wondering if there is any USB Capture card with HDMI pass-through capable of 120/144Hz. I did a quick research and it seems the available options are only 60Hz maximum for HDMI pass-through.

For the actual capture, can be 60Hz. But for the HDMI pass-through I would like 120/144Hz.

Anyone happens to know if such capture card exists?

I have been following the available 4k HMDI 2.1 monitors that can be used for the PS5. Unfortunately, there are very few monitors that support HDMI 2.1, and NO HDMI 2.1 capture cards. Elegato states that they are working on a HDMI 2.1 capture card.

Avermedia Live Game Ultra can do it. I have this one. Max pass-through resolution s 2160p@60 HDR, 1440p@144, 1080p@240. Max recorded resolution is 2160p@30, 1440p@60, 1080p@120, or 1080p@60 HDR

What resolution are you wanting for 120/144 Hz? I assumed that you wanted 4k at 120/144 Hz.

Thank you guys. The Avermedia Live Game Ultra is what I am looking for.

At the moment I am not interested in 4K. I play with monitor and 1440p is more than good enough. Also, it seems that the majority of 4K games on PS5 and XSX will be locked at 30FPS. I'd prefer 1440p, or even 1080p, but at 120/144 FPS.

Well quick tip use hdmi splitter for the moment there isnt one support hdmi2. 1 but for 4k 60 fps hdr works great i have an hdmi 1x2 so from ps5 to splitter and from splitter 2 hdmi cable one to the elgato hd 60 s and one the tv,
Like that i keep my hdcp enabled it suports hdr and lag free.
Soon there will be hdmi 2.1 splitters out there to support 120 hz.

Thanks. I purchased this and it was plug-and-play. Easier setup than Elgato. Works well on series X.
