XBOX SERIES X
Microsoft has confirmed that all current Xbox One controllers will be compatible with the Xbox Series X consoles:

Therefore, is expected both the Titan Two and the Titan One to work on the Xbox Series X without even requiring a firmware update. :smile0517:

PLAYSTATION 5

  1. According to Sony's lead console architect Mark Cerny, the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 games.
  2. The new PlayStation 5 controller (DualShock 5) will NOT have lightbar.
It is relatively safe to assume the PS5 will be compatible with PS4 controllers, as several PS4 games (specially VR) requires the lightbar to work. I would guess the controller's protocol (including the authentication procedures) will be carried over the PS5. The current PlayStation controller's protocol is flexible and could easily accept new features, such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and built-in microphones.

Looks like they just announced that it is confirmed PlayStation four controllers will work on PlayStation five but only with PlayStation four games.

https://www.theverge.com/2020/8/3/21352 ... 's%20plans.

Sony is confirming today that its existing PS4 controller will not work with PS5 games. “We believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller,” says Sony in a statement confirming the company’s plans.

Sony says that existing DualShock 4 controllers and officially licensed third-party PS4 controllers “will work with supported PS4 games.” Sony doesn’t list its supported games, but the company does confirm that officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games. Sony’s existing PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will also work with supported PS VR games on the PS5

It's wait and see time. XSX is looking more promising, but hopefully T2 can be updated to support a DualSense controller.

This is a good news, meaning both Titans will work on PS5 right off the bat (as well as with XSX), which will give us enough time to implement the DualSense 5 emulator and driver. I am 95% convict the DualSense 5 communication protocol will be basically the same as the DS4, extended to support the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Can I just plug in the ps5 controller into the T2 and that should work fine then? E.g. with Cold War (PS5 Edition) + User101 script?

A firmware update will be required, see J2K's post above yours.

Yes. We will start work on Titan One as soon as the Titan Two update gets released.
