Hori onyx - new Sony licensed controller compatibility?

Postby My_Eggplant_got_her » Sat Mar 03, 2018 2:57 pm

Hello, I'm in North America and recently tried the 'only-in-Europe' Sony licensed controller called the hori onyx. Not sure why it's not released globally, but my brother had to order online from eBay to get it. And when I tried it out I fell in love lol. It's better in my hand than the nacon revolution pro - which my brother also has and let me try.

Here's a link to the official PlayStation page for the hori onyx:

https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2018/01 ... next-week/

I very much want to get my own BUT............ can anyone whom it may concern PLEASE let me know if the Titan one (current device I own) can /will get a compatibility update for the hori onyx? It's important for me to know before making the purchase. As impressed as I was with the onyx, I'm not trying to comprise my use with the Titan one lol. Thank you in advance.

PS4 controller must have the VID:PID manually added to the firmware, so possible this new controller is not yet supported.

Could you please check the VID:PID of your controller and post here?

The link below is a step-by-step guide to obtain the VID:PID of an USB device connected to PC:

Thank you.

Necro time, to save explanation.

Did the hori Onyx ever get added to the Titan Two? Mine doesn't work with it currently, and I'm wondering if I'm messing it up somehow.

For convenience, these are what I got for hardware IDs:
Code: Select all
USB\VID_0F0D&PID_0104&REV_0572
USB\VID_0F0D&PID_0104

This controller was not yet added to the Titan Two. Thank you for providing the VID:PID for this controller, I will be adding to the next firmware update:

Happy to help! Looking forward to it. Does this mean the touchpad will be functional?

Hello! I was just wondering if this went through.

Currently gtuner reads it as "Playstation 4", but receives no input. Suggestions?

With the latest Gtuner IV and firmware the Titan Two can now capture the first 2 seconds of the data communication when in full passthru mode.

If possible for you, please proceed as the following:

1) Unplug all controllers from the Titan Two;
2) Connect the output to the PS4 console;
3) Connect the Prog port to your computer;
4) Open Gtuner IV and go to top menu Tools -> "Fetch Descriptors ...";
5) Plug the Hori onyxany port at the front of the Titan Two, and ...
6) !IMPORTANT! Quickly press the PS button several times;
7) After couple seconds for this window be update with the captured data;
8) Click on the button "Copy Descriptors" and send to me.
