Game info from ps4

Just wondering, do consoles like the PS4 ever send any info about what game is loaded to the controller/via the usb port?

I'm thinking that, if they do, then the T2 might find a way to read that data and then out scripts could adjust variables based on the game being used?

E.g. if the T2 was able to read that the game loaded had an I'd of sceu11364 or whatever, then we could set variable swapsticks = q. Or something like this?

Don't know if it's even possible, or if consoles send this kind of data? Would be a neat idea though.
