TITAN ONE + Latest XIM4 FW

Postby J2Kbr » Mon Aug 31, 2015 3:40 pm

As I mentioned in the other topic, OBsIV sent me a XIM4 to test with the Titan One (thanks OBsIV, very nice from you). I got it few days a go and this week I'll be dedicating time to make the XIM4 properly work with the Titan One!

I'll be updating this topic/post with my finding and, hopefully, getting feedback from you.

This is what I have:
- Titan One, latest firmware version (2.27).
- XIM4, latest firmware version (20141114) - First test run.
- XIM4, latest RC firmware version (20150816) - Second test run.
- All consoles updated with the latest version (PS4, PS3, XB1, XB360)
- For testing I'm not using Keyboard and Mouse, just checking if the controller connected on the XIM4 back USB port is operational and if the authentication is working, when applicable.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

First Test: PlayStation 4
Titan One OUTPUT Protocol set to: AUTOMATIC; Speed-up Settings: ALL Enabled.
Tested with latest XIM4 version (20141114) AND with latest XIM4 RC version (20150816).

Steps:
1) Connect the Titan One on PS4;
2) Connect the PS4 controller on XIM4 back USB port;
3) Connect XIM4 on the Titan One.
After about 3 to 4 seconds the PS4 pops a message of "Controller Connected".
At this point the controller is working and operational.
The PS4 authentication thru Titan One and XIM4 is working as well.

Could someone test and confirm this?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second Test: PlayStation 3
Titan One OUTPUT Protocol set to: AUTOMATIC; Speed-up Settings: ALL Enabled.
Tested with latest XIM4 version (20141114) AND with latest XIM4 RC version (20150816).

Steps:
1) Connect the Titan One on PS3;
2) Connect the PS3 controller on XIM4 back USB port;
3) Connect XIM4 on the Titan One.
After about 3 to 4 seconds the controller is working and operational.

Could someone test and confirm this?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Third Test: Xbox 360
Titan One OUTPUT Protocol set to: AUTOMATIC; Speed-up Settings: ALL Enabled.
Tested with latest XIM4 version (20141114). Testing with the latest XIM4 RC version on going...

Method 1 - Steps:
1) Connect the Titan One on Xbox 360;
2) Authenticate the Titan One with the console using a wired Xbox 360 controller;
3) Remove the Xbox 360 controller from the Titan One;
4) and connect the controller into the back USB port of XIM4;
5) Connect XIM4 on the Titan One.
After about 3 to 4 seconds the controller is working and operational.
Side note: Pay attention if the Titan One does not resets due power loss when inserting the XIM4.

Method 2 (preferable) - Steps:
1) Connect the Titan One on Xbox 360;
2) Connect the wired Xbox 360 controller on XIM4 back USB port;
3) Connect XIM4 on the Titan One.
After about 3 to 4 seconds the controller is working and operational.
The Xbox 360 authentication thru Titan One and XIM4 works as well.

Could someone test and confirm this?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fourth Test: Xbox One
Titan One OUTPUT Protocol set to: AUTOMATIC; Speed-up Settings: ALL Enabled.
Tested with latest XIM4 version (20141114) AND with latest XIM4 RC version (20150816).

Attention: Using the Xbox One controller on XIM4 does not works. <-- I'll try fix this.

Steps:
1) Connect the Titan One on Xbox One;
2) Authenticate the Titan One with the console using a Xbox One controller with the cable;
3) Remove the Xbox One controller from the Titan One;
2) Connect a PS3 or a wired Xbox 360 or a PS4 controller on XIM4 back USB port;
3) Connect XIM4 on the Titan One.
After about 3 to 4 seconds the controller is working and operational.
Side note: Pay attention if the Titan One does not resets due power loss when inserting the XIM4.

Could someone test and confirm this?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS.: Again, I haven't tested with Keyboard and Mouse.
As the controller is working I'm assuming the K&M should also work.

+1,

Ask OBsIV to add you to the beta tester group, the newest\latest firmware version for Xim4 is 20150816. I would think that you would rather use the beta builds like most of us do, in your case you would find out a lot faster if something breaks in the latest build. We try the beta build first, if all goes well they release it to the public.

J2K,

This is what I have:
- Titan One, latest firmware version (2.27).
- XIM4, latest firmware version (20141114).
- All consoles updated with the latest version PS4
- Authenticate no problem
- enable all frame in/out, 1 ms no problem encountered.

Will try PS3 later because is hidden somewhere in the outer space. lol :innocent_smile_1:

fyi.

I did a previous test PS4 - Titan One, latest firmware version (2.27) and XIM4 beta ST2 fw version 20150212, 20150816. These beta giving me headaches. Its like out of sync communicating T1 or Xim4?. for me its is unplayable connecting xim to T1 because its hard to kill the enemy you need spend the entire clip no joke :x . I also considered lag in the equation. I conclude its not the lag. connect xim to ps4 kill the enemy normally and now T1 to ps4- xim to T1-ps4 craziness starts. I'm thinking could be two device not communicating properly? Will update you more problems :innocent_smile_1:

Thanks for the info. So the problem is only with the 2015**** firmware, the 2014 version -same I used- is working for you too. I'll redo all the tests with the latest RC...

Okay, I just tested the Xbox One with the latest RC version 20150816 with exactly same results as the firmware 2014.

PS: I'm only checking the connectivity and authentication. I'm not testing gameplay at this moment.

So i got my:
PS4 (latest)
Titan one (Latest)
XIM4 (latest 150816)

Its working now for me.
But it does introduce enough delay on the mouse to be annoying really. (more then just with the XIM4, or just the T1)
Its not much, but enough to be annoying in FPS games. The best way i could describe it is the same delay an older cordless mouse would give.

Also some times it decides to not react when pressing more then one button. (no its not my keyboard, it has key roll over, and i dont have any problems with just the xim4)

My speed up settings are only the 1ms setting used, also the Titan one is not connected to any PC, just in standalone.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be checking the game play this weekend to get a feeling on the response time.
