Re: Great Gaming Router
I literally just bought a Linksys WRT 1900ACS -- The nice think about this wifi router is the possibility to use open source firmware, which usually have features not avaliable on factory firmware.

Open source firmware definitely is awesome. I did a few of routers that way in the past. I am getting older and don't want to try to stay up-to-date with every device that I own. Therefore, I was happy to see the Netduma. At first, I thought it would be better GUI and spin on the same items as the open source. Then I started diving more into their forums and learning about it. They are developing new stuff in the software that are not available via open source. The have a new 2.0 version due out in a month or two that is going to be a big change.

I had no idea a big new firmware update was on the horizon. Awesome.

I love my Netduma. I can control who connects to me based on Ping or Distance, which in turns allows me to control the quality of the whole lobby.
The new OS will add anti-jitter and anti-spike into the mix, along with the fancy GUI. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Yes very exciting. Although I thought the anti-spike thing was in the last firmware update? Granted I haven't been following it closely, I just updated without looking closely at the release notes.
He was writing about this literally a year ago so I assumed it was out already:

They held it back for the new OS. The big features of the last release were Hyperlane and auto-config.
