Publish a script as Script vs. Bytecode - what's the diff?

Postby pablosscripts » Thu Sep 08, 2016 8:47 am

Can I assume the bytecode is the compiled script, and therefore can't be easily copied?

(I know we're not supposed to publish anything during beta, I'm just looking through all the settings in Gtuner IV)
Setup: XIM Apex, T2, K780 keyboard, G Pro Wireless mouse, SteelSeries 4HD pad, DXRacer armrest, LucidSound LS30 headset, Netduma router, Ubiquiti UniFi AP LR

Yes the bytecode is the compiled script to publish and share scripts without the source code.

I think we should publish during the beta to get a good base for the public launch.

Actual yeah I wasn't sure what the policy is on publishing during beta. I thought I remember reading that we shouldn't but my memory isn't the best.

Correct. The Bytecote is the compiled script.

And of course you guys can and should publish scripts during the beta!! I am inclusive encouraging publish any kind of script to test. later, if you wish, the script can be deleted.

Those scripts will only be available through the Gtuner IV Beta Application so only those in the Beta will see them. Correct J2Kbr?

Correct. The script will be only avaliable on Gtuner IV, but anyone who downloaded Gtuner IV would be able to see the published scripts.

Does publishing as Bytecode offer any form of security? Or is it easy to decompile?

Decompile a Titan Two script is much harder than it is on Titan One due the many code optimizations the compiler does on the code. However, it is not impossible. Someone with skill, patience and lot of free time would be able to create a disassembler.
