New Fortnite Xbox Update 5.30

Postby djxdj » Thu Aug 23, 2018 10:04 am

The new xbox update got rid of the "dead zones" on the controller and has changed the way mouse acceleration works when using the titan two. The mouse now feels sluggish with small movements.

Has anyone successfully tweaked their values yet?

Seems there's a lot of backlash against these changes, so Epic is going to be adjusting them. Might not be wise to make changes to your input settings yet until they've decided what to do.

Furthermore, aim abuse no longer works on this patch (or is greatly diminished, I can't tell yet). They've changed the behavior of aim-assist when spamming ADS.

Noticed these changes too, on all systems, including Nintendo Switch. Let's wait an official word from epic, if the changes are permanent (it seems they are debating this), we update the respective Input Translators.

Thank you for your reply. They claim they reverted the changes but things still feel off. I think there is a small amount of aim-acceleration enabled, as well as reduced aim-assist when using ADS.

I will try reducing the auto-aim hold and release and see if that helps. How would you recommend to tweak the deadzone values and conversion curve?

Thanks again

For anyone following this thread, there is a new Input Translator released today you can find in gTuner.

Okay, after waiting yesterday's Fortnite patch, these are my conclusions:

1) Epic, in 5.30, changed aim acceleration, XB1 deadzone and nerfed aim assist;
2) in 5.30.2 the aim assist was reverted, but the other two changes were kept.

As such, we needed to make new Input Translators (PS4, XB1 and SWITCH) to adjust the mouse inputs to the new aiming mechanics.

Yes, even with the latest input translator when you move the mouse very slowly there is no effect in the game. Not sure if it's the aim acceleration or the deadzone change or a combination of both.

They were supposed to release a patch tonight but delayed it until Friday due to some unspecified controller issue, so I imagine we'll see new controller tweaks on Friday. Hopefully they give us an option to enable/disable any changes they make.

Thanks for all your efforts!
