Can I used mxyconverter with joysticks?

I would like to be able to use my Steam Controller with Titan Two. It works well, but the right trackpad acts as a joystick. That means that pressing the top of the trackpad is equivalent to pressing up on a joystick.
I would like to use mxyconverter to convert finger movement on the trackpad to joystick movement, as I believe that is the most viable solution to my problem. I tried using mouse_set to set the mouse position to the position on the trackpad, and then converting it. I tried this method using the input translator as well as through GPC code, but neither seem to have any effect on the output. Is there any way I can use mxyconverter on this joystick? If not, is it possible that this could be implemented in the future?

mouse_set() in this case will not work, as the input translator is evaluated at the device driver, before the GPC script processing.

If I remember correctly, the Steam controller has a mouse interface which we could be using for the purpose you described. I am currently in a trip, will be checking and confirming that one get back to office.
