I've been thinking about 'var' and concluded that only have it as alias for fix32 would not be a good solution to abstract the complexity of the different variable types, as some internal functions expect int type (or other) as parameter, requiring casting.

In addition to that we also need implement automatic casting when needed. But this will be more complex than the initial suggestion. I will keep this on hold for now, but with plans to have the var type implemented before the end of the beta period.

Fair enough. The reality is it won't affect existing scripts as I assume it will be interchangeable, so it will be safe to roll out post-go-live. Function name changes were a whole different ball game so that needed to be done asap, but this is different. I'd say you have bigger fish to fry:)
