Trying to use a Sony SCPH-1110 analog-Joystick for PS4
Hello everyone!
I just bought the Titan Two, an awesome Sony-Controller SCPH-1110, a PS1/PS2->PS3/PC-Adapter and can't get it to work.
I would like to use it at least for RIGs as I saw it from this guy using the CMax for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PswMt7CseQ
My big hope was, that I could use the TT and the controller without using the PC as a middleman, but I can't get it to work neither as standalone nor with the PC.
I'm a total noob to TT/GTIV, I watched several Youtube-Videos, searched the forums but still stuck with this after several hours of trying (although I got my Logitech Flightstick 3DPro running with the TT). Sorry if I missed something here in the forums, because the whole topic is quite overwhelming to me.
This is the Joystick, it has an analog-digital-switch, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Analog_Joystick
When I connect the Joystick in analog mode directly to Port A of the TT, the device monitor shows most of the buttons as pressed.
But I can move both sticks and they are recognized correctly.
If I connect this setup to the PS4 nothing works.
When I connect it in the digital mode, only the BUTTON_1 is flashing in the device monitor and nothing else is reacting.
So I tried to connect the Stick to the PC. There it is recognized as a PS3-Controller. In the GTIV I did the configure SD-Card-Magic (?), switched to USB Multi Interface HID and tried the KMG Capture by enabling gamepad and disabling mouse/keyboard. Now the stick works in analog mode, all buttons etc. are recognized in the device monitor but I can't get this information forwarded to the PS4. I tried switching protocols, checkboxes etc. Depending on the settings the PS4 showed a keyboard as controller - but nothing happens if I try the Joystick or the DS4.
I set it up with this connection-setup: TT-ProgPort->PC, Joystick->PC, TT-Output->PS4, PS4-Controller->TT-A or TT-B
I've read something that If I provide information about the stick (by fetching the usb descriptors?), it could find the way in the firmware - but honestly I'm too confused right now.
Could somebody point me to the right direction, how to set this up and then remap the buttons, please?
It would be so fantastic if this Joystick could be used in the standalone mode so that I can ommit the pc. But I would be happy if I can get to work anyway.
Thank you very much,
Steve.
Edit: Here are the descriptors when connected to the TT (same for analog or digital mode)

In KMG capture keep your output set as PS4, HID is for outputting as generic controller or KBM.

Hey Buffy!
Thank you soooo much for that! That works and now I'm able to proceed. Seems to be that I missed that one, but as I said - the whole package is quite overwhelming for me
I just have verified, that I now can use a script to to map the keys or modify the behaviour of the left stick. An Input Translator also works. Awesome!
Is there any chance, that this stick will ever be recognized by the Titan Two itself so I can use it without the PC? That would be so cool!
Thanx again,
Steve.

Re: Trying to use a Sony SCPH-1110 analog-Joystick for PS4
I believe the issue is the controller being recognized as regular PS3 controller. The PS3 driver does not parse the HID descriptor, the input data is interpreted using hard coded format. What we need to do is force the Titan Two load the HID driver for this controller. Please let me check the provided descriptors to verify if this will be possible. Thanks.

Hi J2Kbr!
Did you have a chance to have a look on this? Would be so happy if the T2 supports this Joystick natively.
And I could imagine this would sell you some mor T2s since this joystick get's kind of a renaissance on ebay because of games like Battlezone VR, Rigs or Space/Flight Games...
Thank you,
Steve.
