Two questions about using this with standard controllers

I'm asking for a friend. I use a XIM so my experience using standard controllers is really slim:

1) When using a wired headset, you can plug it into the wireless controller right? It doesn't need to be connected to the authenticating controller that's connected to the T2?

1.1) Do I need to turn on any settings or should this work by default?

2) If using T2 on a PC (with a standard controller, not HID with M&KB), is it a simple plug and play? Or do any of the settings need to be changed?

2. I use my ps4 controller on my pc, you need to set the t2 to xbox360 controller. Works with no issues.
