3DRudder on PS4

Postby Prunesquallr » Sat Mar 28, 2020 7:01 pm

Has anyone successfully used Titan2 to use the 3D Rudder on a non-supported game?

I’m trying to figure out a controller scheme I can use for No Man’s Sky on PS4 where I can map one of the joysticks to the 3DRudder. Not using VR though I might go there eventually.

When using a PS4 controller the right joystick triggers some really bad repetitive stress problems in my right shoulder. I’d like to use the 3DRudder or a comparable foot powered controller for movement and remap the camera control to the left stick.

Thanks!

Welcome. Is the 3D Rudder recognized by the Titan Two? Can you see the controller inputs on Gtuner's Device Monitor? If yes, it would be simple map this controller inputs to the right analog stick and use with any game such as No Man's Sky.

I haven’t purchased the 3d Rudder controller yet.

I’d been hoping that I could hear from someone who had tried before dropping the money into it.

Ok, I’ve tried hooking up the 3D rudder to the Titan2 while I’m hooked up to a computer w Gtuner running.

I see no activity on any of the inputs.

As a control, I tried hooking up a PS4 controller while plugged into gtuner. Device monitor shows all the expected gyro, joy and button inputs. So I believe I’m doing that much right.

Thank you for the information. Please check this:

With the Titan Two also connected to your computer via PROG port, open Gtuner IV and go to the Device Monitor panel. In the center area locate the port you have the connected the 3D Rudder (i.e. USB-A), what is show there? "PlayStation 4"? "HID:G"?

In the Device Monitor view, when the 3DRudder is attached to slot A, I see “None” in that entry.

Btw I’ve tested the controller with a supported game just to make sure it’s functional.

I’m sorry, I was wrong in the previous post.

Device monitor shows “HID [IN]” under slot A while the 3DRudder is connected.

Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience.

Thank you for checking. The Titan Two is not recognizing any usable HID interface. Yesterday I received the USB descriptors of the 3D Rudder in PC mode and will be soon checking to confirm if is possible to add support for this device.

In the meantime, if putting the 3D rudder in PS4 mode, what is shown the Device Monitor?

The 3D rudder I have is sold for PS4, not aware of any way to change its mode.

If you mean the input type drop down in the upper left of Device Monitor, the 3D rudder shows the same “HID [IN]” regardless.

Thanks for the help, hoping that there’s a way to add compatibility.
