Your Controller Needs an Update / Series X

Postby ZeroDown » Wed Aug 25, 2021 11:40 am

Hi,

Series X got an update on the 22nd.

Since then, plugging in the T2 results in a popup saying your controller needs an update. The T2 is set to output for series X and never used to have this problem.

I have an Elite V1 controller and it doesn't matter if that is attached to the T2 or not, it is the T2 which causes the message. If I plug my controller directly into the Xbox, no popup.

Its not a big issue but every time one switches on the console with the T2 attached, it happens.

You can update the controller while it's connected to the Titan Two.
I updated one of my controllers with no further update requests. Doing my spare controller now.

I updated my spare controller and played with it today no issues.
Maybe try a hard reset of the console to clear the cache. Hold down the xbox power button for 10~ seconds.

I have tried the hard reset and it hasn't helped.

@Mad if you unplug the Titan and plug it in again, does it not popup with the error?

Unplugging the controller from the Titan and plugging it in again isn't what causes the issue. Its unplugging the T2 and plugging it in again which is the issue.

Same here,
I own 3 controllers all are up to date.

When I loop the signal through the TT I also get the request to update my controller every time.

Currently the TT is a brick with this problem. I hope someone is working on it.

No, both my controllers are good.
I'll pass on the info to get it looked into though.

Thanks, would appreciate that.

As I mentioned, it isn't the controller. Those are all updated and don't cause an issue when plugged into the Series X directly. It is when the T2 is connected, with or without a controller, that is asks to update the controller. But then when you go do the update it says there isn't one.

Because I leave the T2 connected, it also asks every time the console is started.
