G502 - button(s) not recognized by T2

Postby kevinr1 » Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:07 pm

I use the T2 and my mouse, G502, for shooter games. The 'right click', 'left click' and looking around works without any issues.

However, all the other buttons are not recognized by the T2.
I've used the Device Monitor to see if anything is recognized when I click all the buttons, but only the aformentioned items are recognized.

So what I did was:

- Connect the Titan Two to your computer via PROG port;
- Open Gtuner IV and go to Device Monitor;
- Connect the G502 wireless mouse to the Titan Two;
- Press all the buttons and check which are is activated
And I see no buttons activated, except for "The 'right click', 'left click' and looking around".

To test around: I have mapped the key 'N', to a button on the mouse.

When the mouse is connected to my laptop, I press the button on the mouse, then it inputs 'N', this is at it should. This works.

However, N is not recognized by the Titan 2 device. Even when I map the default button to the mouse, the Titan 2 device doesn't 'see' that the button is pressed.

I'm so lost here. Can anyone help me out?
I've also tried using the 'on-board memory', but still, not recognized.

Mapping the extra buttons to keys in the logitech software and saving it to the onboard memory of the mouse is the correct way to do it.
you probably missed to save it to the ondevice memory.
then use an input translator to mak the key to a gamepad button or use a script reading the key for doing custom actions.

That is not the case. Read:
"When the mouse is connected to my laptop, I press the button on the mouse, then it inputs 'N', this is at it should. This works."

Meaning, it is saved to the onboard memory, this is tested. I am using an input translator, but the input translator does not 'see' my button press.

Please, help me out.

I was thinking your laptop is the device you are running logitech software to setup the mouse.

If the laptop isn't running any logitech software and the mouse button press correctly performs the "n" key it could be a matter of using the input translator correctly.

You need to map the N key to some button to show up in the device monitor as a pressed button.
For the input translator to be active you need to put it onto a T2 slot and load that slot.
If you do any changes to the input translator you need to save it again, put it onto the T2 slot again and reload that T2 slot each time.

Try to run this piece of code and check if the output panel shows some information when you press the mouse button you have mapped to key N stored to the onboard memory:

For everyone having the same issue in the future, I finally figured it out.
On the GHUB application, click on the mouse, then right above on the settings menu. Then click the 'on memory' button.
But then ALSO click on the default profile, to actually load the on-board memory to the G502.

If that step is missed, it will not use onboard memory, as might you think it is.
