Power adapter and bt dongle question.

Postby lokirevamped » Sun Oct 30, 2016 5:50 am

How far are we from having a purchase date for the power adapter and bt dongle? Can someone refer me to a power adapter on Amazon that has been tested to work? J2, what are the safe specs requirement for the power adapter? Thanks in advance.

Any power adapter with DC 7.5V and 2A can be used, assuming the connector plug is compatible. The BT Module and the other accessories will take few weeks to get ready by the manufacturer.

Thank you, I guess I can wait a few more weeks.

What price can we expect for the bluetooth module?

this is what I am currently discussing with the manufacturer ... The cost price I got last week was much higher than I was expecting. we are discussing possible options to reduce the price.

Just give me the higher priced version as of now, I don't mind paying the V.I.P price :innocent_smile_1:

Yup I'd be happy to pay a higher price for now during the beta. We need to get this tested asap before release. If it costs a bit more to do so, then so be it. We're getting dangerously close to missing the key Xmas shopping season.

Okay ... you guys convinced me!! :) We can still have a secondary BT module, using cheaper parts.

Yup. Say it costs you 10x as much (even though it won't cost you a cent more cause we'll be paying for it:), think about the cost of going live with this product...shipping say a thousand units only to find a bug that we could have caught. There's no comparison in terms of cost / benefit of testing this asap! Even if it's not a devastating bug (e.g. bricks the device), the PR / reputation impact won't be good.
