The first step for that is check to what input the hat button is mapped to. This can be done using Gtuner's Device monitor, as the following:
- Connect the Titan Two to your computer via PROG port;
- Open Gtuner IV and go to Device Monitor;
- Connect the thrust controller the the Titan Two;
- Press the hat button and check which button is activated.

The left hat switch doesn't do anything on device monitor, nor does the 'i' switch. Hat is a four way switch/button and 'i' is just a button. Additionally, the top hat button, on the right stick only works in two of the four directions. Up and right work but down and left don't.

Re: Crash course on using the Input Translator
Thank you for checking.
Please capture and post here the USB descriptors of your X52 Hotas so I can check the compatibility with the Titan Two.
On Gtuner IV, with the Titan Two connected to computer, go to top menu Tools -> "Fetch Descriptors ...". Now plug the X52 Hotas to any port on the Titan Two. The descriptors will show in the window, click on the button "Copy Descriptors" and post here.
