I use a very old mouse a logitech g9 in 2000dpi but it is very good mouse to my liking.

I will be working on the mouse settings for this game in the week of Nov 1st. (I am currently in a trip, without access to the tools needed to work on this).

Related to the issue you described, please try tweak the deadzone settings (making it bigger).
