Will this work if i have no controller?

Interested in buying but i am wanting to use mouse and keyboard with a PS4 but i do not have a controller.
I will be connecting my mouse and keyboard to my laptop.
Does a controller NEED to be connected to the device or can i leave the INPUT port empty and use partial crossover?

Thank you for your interest on the Titan device.
With the Titan One you will need a PS4 controller plugged on the device's input port.
With the Titan Two there is an alternative way to avoid the use of controller on PS4.
With the Titan One you will need a PS4 controller plugged on the device's input port.
