Mic Not Working with Titan 2 and Xbox one

Hello,
I've started using the xim apex with titan 2 and everything works great. However, the mic stops working periodically.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I've tried using a second controller with mic into input B but I can't get this to work either. Can someone maybe detail how to use this method.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You would have to use a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller with the Apex for this method to work.
