The Titan Two's USB IC has an internal buffer where the output packet is stored for when the USB host (the console) requests new data. This buffer was being used by default until firmware 1.04 and the output LED green just reflected a successful connection with the console.

Since firmware 1.05, the Titan Two firmware is syncing the output data with the USB frame corresponding to the current USB polling rate. In others words: the firmware calculates the exact time the USB host (console) will requests new data for only then generate the output packet (therefore with most recent information). This approach makes the Titan Two into a virtually zero lag device. For FW 1.05, when the output data is synced, the LED is green. And when -for some reason- the syncing is lost (therefore the output buffer is being used) the LED turns orange until the synchronization is reestablished.
